Do you have lockdown liver?

I heard this term recently – lock down liver.  A clients friend had seen her GP because she was struggling with itchy dry skin – particularly on her shins, deteriorating sleep, and quite low mood.  The GP had suggested she had lock down liver.  A condition that has resulted from drinking too much without realising, and eating too much sugar during lock down.

The pressure on the liver in 21st Century life is huge.  The liver is the general of the bodies army.  It has a role to play in over 500 different functions.  It metabolises fats for energy, detoxifies chemicals we are exposed to daily and produces the raw materials for effective hormone balance.  An over loaded  liver can result in low mood, bags under the eyes, itchy skin and most importantly poor sleep.

If sleep is poor, and mood is low it is easy to get into a cycle of reaching for ‘comfort foods’.  This cycle of comfort is causing the liver to be under constant and increasing pressure.   No amount of moisturising cream to the skin, sleep spray on the pillow, or concealer under the eyes will make a difference if the liver is not working efficiently.

If the liver is constantly detoxing the chemicals, hormones will never be effectively balanced, weight will be increasingly stubborn, and sleep will be an ongoing issue.  Bags under the eyes, low mood and itchy skin are just the tip of the iceberg if the liver is struggling.

So loving your liver becomes paramount if you want to solve any one of these problems outlined above.  Some simple tips include drinking half a lemon squeezed into warm water first thing in the morning before consuming anything else, and also making sure you have green food with every meal.

My Wonderful and Well mini detox programme will start again on Monday the 4th January. Run through a whatsapp group with daily challenges and actions, everyone keeps each other accountable and works together to improve their long term health – both physical and mental.

I have decided to do a black Friday deal on the programme.  The normal cost of the programme is £97, and that includes two gentle detox supplements, along with full accountability and guidance to help you get the best result possible.  For the full 21 days of this mini detox you will be alcohol and sugar free and all food is cooked from scratch.  For Black Friday you can take a further £20 off the price.  Remember this detox doesn’t start until January 4th 2021, so it could be the ideal Christmas present to yourself!

The programme will help you sleep better, reduce bloating, balance hormones and improve your mood and energy levels.  Why not go into Christmas this year knowing that your health is on track once we get into 2021.   You can book onto the Wonderful and Well programme by clicking HERE.

Look forward to seeing you soon!
